The atmosphere

A garden at three in the afternoon, after everyone has gone inside.

Every garden has two scents. The first is the one visitors smell — bright, deliberate, arranged for company. The second is the one only the gardener knows — quieter, deeper, the trees and earth and shade beneath the show.

Palace Grove is the second scent.

It opens with green notes — fresh, like leaves still wet from morning. Pink pepper adds the lightest spice. The heart blooms slowly: orange blossom, fig, white flowers in their second hour. And the base is the garden after dark — incense, sandalwood, oud — the warmth that holds the trees through the night.

The composition

Eight ingredients. Three movements.

From morning leaves to evening incense. A garden across a day.

Top — the leaves

Pink Pepper

Fresh, dewy. The garden in the first light.

Heart — the bloom

Orange Blossom
Fig

Sacred woods. The garden after the gates close.

Where it wears

A fragrance for the contemplative hours.

i.
The reading afternoon

A quiet hour with a book. The green notes and pink pepper read like a glass of cool water; the fig and incense settle while you settle.

ii.
The dinner with thoughtful people

Palace Grove invites slower conversation. The incense base gives it gravitas without weight; the orange blossom keeps it from being heavy.

iii.
The walk before bed

An evening stroll, the city quiet. The sandalwood-and-oud close becomes more present as the day cools. You bring the garden home with you.

Dominique Bouley

Master Perfumer · Trained in Grasse, France

"Most florals are written for the morning. I wanted to write one for the afternoon."

Dominique built Palace Grove around the unusual decision of pairing fig with incense — a fruit note typically reserved for fresh fragrances, married to a base typically reserved for prayer. The result reads neither fresh nor sacred. It reads quiet.

Eight ingredients only. Restraint as a meditation.

It became the HABIBI signature for buyers who already own three other fragrances.

"This is the first fragrance I have ever owned that I wear when I am alone. Most perfumes are for other people. This one is for me."

★★★★★

"The incense base reminds me of my grandfather's library. There is something deeply familiar about it even though I have never smelled it before."

The questions we hear most.

How does Palace Grove differ from your other Extrait?

Penthouse Suede ($200) is evening-leaning, masculine-readable. Magnificent Rose ($200) is the women's flagship rose. Palace Grove is the contemplative one — incense + fig + orange blossom, unisex by design, the quietest of the three.

Is the incense overwhelming?

No. The incense lives in the base, beneath the floral heart. It reads as warmth and gravitas, not as smoke. Many of our reviewers note they were surprised by how subtle it is.

Will fig be too sweet?

Fig in perfumery is creamy and woody, not sugary. It adds a smooth texture to the orange blossom + white floral heart. Most fig fragrances are gourmand; Palace Grove uses fig as a stabilizer, not a feature.

How long does it last?

Ten to fourteen hours on skin. Extrait de Parfum concentration. Sandalwood and oud are notoriously long-wearing.
